Music and Drama are a big part of student life at Buxlow. We wholeheartedly believe in the many benefits that engagement with the arts can bring, from increased confidence, discipline and self esteem to improved performance across the curriculum. Buxlow students are passionate about performing, and every child finds something to enjoy in these subjects. Our regular productions and performances are a real highlight of the school year.

In addition to curriculum Music taught by Ms Patsika, we offer a range of instruments taught by outstanding graduates of the Royal College of Music. Available instruments include:

Guitar (taught by Mr Lanham)
Cello, Piano, Violin (taught by Ms Makhina)

Lessons are taught on a 1:1 basis, meaning that the children get the attention and support they require to achieve an excellent standard in their chosen instrument.

While Drama is integrated into other curriculum subjects, and all children are given regular opportunities to develop performance and presentation skills, we are also pleased to offer LAMDA classes as an extra-curricular subject, taught by Mrs Lau. For an additional fee, children can be prepared and entered for the LAMDA examinations – an area in which Buxlow traditionally excels.
